Have you ever wondered what defines rhythmic gymnastics or how we strive to teach our rhythmic gymnastics for kids programs? We focus on the fundamentals. All of our gymnasts are taught the importance of grace, dance ability, coordination. These are the fundamental building blocks which our rhythmic gymnastics for kids programs are built on. Toronto Aspirals takes pride in our rhythmic gymnastics for kids programs and we are proud of the athletes that we have played a part in developing over the years.
Rhythmic gymnastics hasn’t always existed. In fact, the concept was created in 1962 and unveiled at the World Championships in Hungary in 1963. It officially became an Olympic sport in 1984 and group competition was added in 1996. When we first discovered rhythmic gymnastics, we wanted to create our own rhythmic gymnastics for kids program. We knew that this was a type of gymnastics that combined creativity with determination and raw power.
Athletes in our rhythmic gymnastics for kids programs must be determined and willing to train hard. If you want to compete in major events you must be willing to work on your balance, flexibility, coordination, and strength. However, psychological toughness and mental fortitude are absolutely essential and recommended for any athlete that wishes to compete at a high level. Our rhythmic gymnastics for kids programs are also open to either gender. Typically, the demographics in our rhythmic gymnastics for kids programs tend to lean towards females, but we accept either gender and encourage anyone interested to apply.
Toronto Aspirals offers a fun and rewarding rhythmic gymnastics for kids program. We strive to inspire and to build valuable fundamentals in all of our gymnasts. We are located in Toronto, but our gym is open to anyone interested. Some of our gymnasts are from Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, the York Region, and throughout the GTA.
