Rhythmic gymnastics for kids is the perfect sport to teach body awareness and control; skills that will assist in the development of athletic potential.
You can start rhythmic gymnastics at any age. However, if you want to start at an older age it helps to have some natural flexibility and/or ballet training.
The ideal age to start rhythmic gymnastics for kids is 5-6 years old, however girls also can start to do gymnastics earlier or later. Little gymnastics is designed for kids aged 3-5 and it is a good start to develop basic coordination and motor skills. Many good gymnasts started later and also successfully competed in rhythmic gymnastics.
Participating in rhythmic gymnastics will help your daughter develop good posture and confident body movement for sports and life. She will improve co-ordination and agility, develop body awareness and balance, all which enhance creativity and build self-confidence. The flexibility and strength gained through gymnastics develops healthy minds and bodies that are ready for life's challenges.
