Recreational Programs Overview

Gymnastics is one of very few physical activities in which children can be engaged from an early age. (The other one is swimming). Aspirals recreational programs are designed for kids as young as 18 month old. Classes are small and individual attention is given to every student. Limited or no experience is required to join.  Instruction is focused on learning basic skills of gymnastics, acrobatics, trampoline, hand apparatus (rope, hope, ribbon, ball) manipulation as well as general fitness.

Co-ed classes
18month-3yrs old
This is a parent-child class that focuses on developing and mastering basic skills such as balancing, climbing, jumping, bouncing and coordination skills. A flexible class structure that is instructor-led.

 

 


Gym Bees:
Co-Ed classes

Type: Kindergym
Age: 3 - 4 years
Length: 1 hour

An instructor-led class for beginners in recreational gymnastics. Each week has a different activity theme. Pre-schoolers focus on concentration, sharing and social skills while building strength, balance and coordination. Basic use of rhythmic gymnastics apparatus - balls, hoops, skipping ropes  and ribbon will be taught. Specialized pre-school equipment is used.

 

 


Beamers & Hoopers:
Type:  Recreational
Girls only
Age: 4 - 5 years

Length: 1 hour & 15 minutes

Introduction to basic movements in dance and gymnastics. Simple use of junior sized apparatus (ball, hoop, rope and ribbon.) The program allows young athletes to progress at their own pace, while learning the fundamental skills of balance and coordination. Gymnasts will also be learning how to use artistic gymnastics equipment: trampoline, tumble track, balance beam, etc.


Artistic Rhythms  1
Age: 6 - 8 years
Length: 1 hour & 30 minutes

Artistic Rhythms 2
Type: Advance Recreational

Age: 9 - 12 years
Length: 2 hours

One hour of artistic gymnastics and one hour of rhythmic gymnastics. Use of rhythmic gymnastics apparatus (ball, hoop, rope, ribbon) as well as balance beam, bars, trampoline, etc. Gymnasts participate in the Year End performance.

 

 


Jumpions:
Age: 9 - 12 years
Gender: Girls
Length: 2 hours
Recreational performance group.  Elements of gymnastics, aerobic, dance and acrobatics will be incorporated into dynamic group routines.   Great general fitness and improvement in strength and flexibility. Some gymnastics/dance experience required.

DanceFusion (part of Jumpions program)
Length: 1.5 hours

Part of Jumpions program. The class will consist of cardio work out (various dance steps: Latin, jazz, hip-hop will be taught), muscle-toning and straightening exercises with gymnastics elements.

This program is designed for pre-teen girls.

 


Gym Warriors:
Type:  Acro/Gymnastics

Age: 4 - 5 years
Gender: Boys
Lengh: 1hr

A combination of building basic acrobatic and gymnastics skills. Coordination and balance exercises, trampoline jumping, proper takeoff and landing techniques, ability to jump over obstacles, crawl under low bridges, ball bouncing are part of the curriculum of this class.
